Album Review - Kat DeLuna "Inside Out" East European Version 2011
Promoted by the agreeable singles Push Push (feat. Akon) and Party O'Clock, I expected an album in the same style, but was quite afraid to find something unoriginal on the long run. Even more when I heard the 3rd single to come, Dancing Tonight, a nice but easily forgettable track.
However this opus is a good surprise and it convinced me! It possesses the basic highly rythmed songs with the typical Kat Deluna sound, like the aforementioned singles, Like We Famous or Rock The House, but also manages to find more creativity with the gripping jazzy All In My Head, or with the truly beautiful piano-violin ballad No Me Olvides (note that a second, more conventional ballad, One Foot Out Of The Door, is also featured on the album). Inside Out also proves its efficiency with the very dynamic and catchy Be There (of which No Me Olvides is the spanish-ballad version), a real hit, and I don't really understand why it was not chosen (yet?) to be a single. The singer also included latin music relents in her record with the dancing Muevete Muevete. Last but not least, Calling You and Unstoppable, both extracted from the Shopaholic soundtrack, are also hits (one pop, the other r'n'b) that can perfectly well rivalize with (beat?) superstar Britney, J.Lo or Rihanna's songs.
In a few words, Inside Out is a really enjoyable, positive record, full of energy!
